Letter to Anne, my first client
I thank you so much for finding each other, you are one of those teachers that I feel lucky to find
Dear Anne,
I thank you so much for finding each other and I’m sorry for not having your address to send you these letters.
You are one of those teachers that I feel lucky to find, I don’t even know if Swedish or Danish, with more weight than you should have, you said you were a physiotherapist, that you have traveled alone and that you used to talk so much.
In
our first meeting you haggled over the price of massage. I was
charging the same as the other masseuse on the island. When I arrived
I went to introduce myself and I told her that I wanted to charge the
same as her for an hour and a half of massage. The equivalent of 40€,
I think.
You
wanted 25€. For these 25 I don’t know how many minutes I offered
you. You tried to stretch them, I refused, so you agreed.
Oh
Anne, under the most beautiful tree I have ever seen, looking to the
sea, on the fine sands of the Caribbean… On the second time I
passed through your back you lifted your head and said it’s OK,
forty euros for an hour and a half.
Anne,
that day I was happy.
